When we starting blogging together*, the first project we talked about was Rock Island. Remember?? Our Jared Flood groupie like behavior was already evident then!

I just wanted to go on record to make sure people knew that I actually finished the shawl that I started then….because….I think I am going to cast on another. At that time, I had ordered a skein of Lorna’s Laces Helen’s Lace Solid in Grand Street Ink, the yarn that the shawl was made in but opted to use Wollmeise because….well…because. But, the Lorna’s Laces is a great plummy color and I am sort of getting the hankering to make that shawl again. Particularly as the first Rock Island was stolen off my shoulders by none other than my Mom. (And I’m bigger than her.)

I’m on record now. Not sure when I’ll get to it, but I have caked the Lorna’s Laces. I sort of know where you are with your Rock Island…so as you enter your massive Finishitupitis phase, how about knitting the shawl with me.

I am also thinking….it would be really nice to have a pretty sweater knit out of mohair for the holidays. Which start in a couple of days, I know, but I’m wondering if I can power through a simple pattern (that is one of the reasons for mohair!) in a week or so to start wearing the first weekend in December.

Clearly, I have had too much time to day dream about my knitting!

*  OK, newsflash — since April 2011, this has been a two-headed blog between me (Twisted) and Purled. Just in case you were wondering. You can tell who is posting by looking at the sidebar to see who wrote, but we have also been trying to take turns. Except this one time!
